These hand-made sugar-sprinkled muffins are light and fluffy, with a hint of real lemon, perfect when served with coffee or thick hot 'chocolate a la taza'. A nice touch is the square of waxed paper which holds them not a mass produced fluted cup. I am a good cook, but I must say that these Magdalena muffins are as good as anything I have made. It is a rare time when I can say that store-bought is as good as home-made. They are made by 'Ines Rosales', the venerable bakery in the city of Sevilla, which has been making classic Spanish sweets for over a century. You may be familiar with their inimitable 'Tortas de Aceite' and Almond Dessert Crisps. I cannot think of a nicer old-fashioned treat.
