Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Product broke after two years of use
I have been using Diaper Dekor Plus since my twins came home from the hospital. There are two problems with this diaper system that folks should be aware of. 1) If you plan to use it in a bedroom or bath that is carpeted, scrap that idea. We had to bungie-cord this diaper bin to one of our twin's cribs so it wouldn't tip over when you stepped on the foot pedal to open the lid. And the foot pedal didn't work so well on carpet which is a problem when you are holding your baby on the changing table with one hand and trying to dispose of the soiled diaper with the other. After about 19 months of withstanding the dumping of the diapers from twins one of the inner flaps that helps keep the smell IN the bin broke and we had to tape it permanently closed. After another couple months the other flap broke... just in time for potty training.

Customer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Disappointed in Diaper Dekor Plus
If you have any plans for your baby to either eat solid foods or to develop gross motor skills in the near future, then this product is NOT for you.

The Diaper Dekor Plus worked adequately enough for the first 6 months, but once the baby started eating real food, this pail got STINKY. No matter how I clean/disinfect the inside of the Diaper Dekor the plastic still retains smells. When it is opened to let a new diaper in, the ghastly smells swarm out even more. We empty it and put a new bag in at least twice a week (and all our dirty diapers don't even go in it) but it still REEKS.

What's worse is that now my cruising baby can easily open the lid & stick his hands down through the flaps. This is one of his favorite activities, though it backfires on him when he can't get his arm out.

I called the company, (Regal Lager?) to discuss the issue of a 12 month old being able to open the lid. I was hoping the newer model had some improvement on this. The customer service rep told me that of course he was able to open the lid because the lid had to open so the diapers could get in! She said I should put the Diaper Dekor Plus up on a high shelf so the baby can't reach it. ?!!?!

I'll start using this product again just as soon as I construct that load bearing shelf in the nursery.

Pass on this. I wish I had.

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good product, but spendy
The only problem I have with this pail is after owning it for 2 1/2 years the inner flap insert broke 3 or four times. (I lost count) Regal Lager replaced it free of charge for the first 6 months, but after that it costed $10 each time. I could have had a brand new pail for what I spent on inserts. Other than that It was convenient and my husband and I both liked it. We are having another baby and are debating on getting a new one. (insert and step are broken on old one.)

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great at odor control!
My toddler is just over 2 years old and I've been using this pail since he was born. We live in a small condo and his room is quite small as well. Even with that, we never, ever have had the house - or his room - smelling like used diapers. Even when the pail is completely full. The only time I smell that is when changing the bag (so it's wide open) or if it's overfull and one of the diapers is holding open those inner flaps. Otherwise, nope. No smells. And yes, this is a child who is home with me all day (so, unlike another reviewer said, no, the lack of smell is not because his diapers are going in a daycare's pail!), and, like I said, he is over 2 now so his poop has gotten - um - fragrant. Until he's toilet trained I will continue to use this and I would absolutely use it with another baby. Fantastic at odor control.
My complaints - minor - are the latch, which as others have noted is a bit flimsy and takes a bit of fiddling sometimes to get it to stay closed (not always easy with a 2-year-old trying to "help"!), and as someone else said, it'd be great to have some marking toward the end of the refill so you know when it's nearly done. VERY minor complaints, though, and certainly wouldn't keep me from using it again, and didn't keep me from giving it 5 stars.
