Item Description:
Dehumidifier Benefits

The high capacity dehumidifier has been designed to absorb moisture from small enclosed areas. It will help protect clothes and valuables from the damaging effects of mold / mildew and moisture rot. It is 100% renewable and needs no power to operate. Just hang the eva-dry unit in a closet, or you can place it in other small enclosed spaces, and it will start absorbing moisture immediately. There are no batteries required or cords to plug in, the unit works without power.

Details

There is an indicator window with special 'moisture meter crystals' that change from blue (when dry) to pink (when wet) to indicate when the unit needs to be 'renewed'. The unit will absorb approximately 8-10 ounces of moisture (depending on humidity levels this should take approximately 4-8 weeks). Once the moisture has been adsorbed it cannot leak or spill. This unit uses a specialized engineered crystallized silica gel that is odorless, non-toxic and completely safe. When the indicator crystals turn pink it is time to 're-new' the unit. Simply remove the unit from where it is absorbing moisture and plug it into a power outlet in a well ventilated area (bathroom with extraction fan, garage, outside, etc.) There is a built in heater that will warm the crystals allowing them to expand and release the moisture as water vapor into the outside air. It takes about 12-14 hours to completely re-new the unit. When it is completely renewed the indicator crystals will change back to blue. The unit is brand new again and ready to absorb another 8-10 ounces of moisture. The crystals will remain active for 10 years and we offer a 5 year limited manufactures warranty on all EDV-500 units.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - a dry buy
After spending a small fortune on messy crystal systems, I stumbled upon this small cordless unit to help maintain our garments. I found the product works very well in small spaces, but you may require more than 1 for closets. I also found these units stop the bathroom mirror from fogging up. My units need to be dried out more often than stated, but that is not a problem. The final cost on these units is so minimal, very conveinent and practical.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Eva-dry EDV-E-500
I purchased this product on 8/1/08 and on 9/8/08 I plugged it in for the renewable feature. It is more than I expected from a wireless, stand alone product. I use one in each of my walk-in closets and they seem to have taken care of the humidity problem and resulting mold on shoes, etc.

As I said, this product lasted for five weeks before I had to 'recharge' it and I am most happy with its performance.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - good bye musty basement
this Eva-Dry wireless dehumidifier is an amazing product. It's compact and easy to use. It eliminates the dampness and doesn't require heavy lifting or emptying. I buy them as presents.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great idea works like a charme in my safe.
I bought 2 of these the smaller one for a small safe and the bigger one for a large stand up safe. Works Great noticable difference when opening the door now. Takes about 3 weeks to turn pink and recharge. This is great for a sealed space to keep mold out.

The reviews above you can't expect this to dehumidify a non sealed bathroom, not sure what people where thinking. It holds only a small amount of water and humidity will come into the bathroom as fast as it is absurbed this is not a realistic application for this get a dehumidifer or fan.

For a safe or any other type of sealed area it works great and the renewable thing is awesome.

We've covered in too much detail how it's some sort of "open season" on Vonage when it comes to VoIP patents. After dealing with ridiculous and expensive patent lawsuits from companies who failed to actually innovate in the same way Vonage did, the company was pressured by Wall Street to quickly settle the various patent lawsuits filed against the company. Of course, rather than settle matters, that simply opened the door for other companies to go searching through their patent portfolios to see if there was anything they could sue Vonage over. Indeed, following those settlements it didn't take long for AT&T to dig up a patent and sue -- which was quickly settled as well. Thought things were over? No such luck. Nortel just showed up last month to sue and it took all of about a week and a half for Vonage to settle that case as well.

The Nortel case is slightly different because Vonage actually already had a patent infringement lawsuit going against Nortel, but it wasn't really initiated by Vonage. Instead, it had been initiated by a patent holding firm that Vonage bought in 2006. The end result of the settlement doesn't involve money changing hands, but just a cross licensing agreement for the patents. So what's the big lesson that Vonage and others have learned from this? It's certainly got nothing to do with innovating. It's to hoard as many patents as possible so that you have your own nuclear stockpile for when someone else sues you. Want to know why the USPTO is overwhelmed? It's not because there aren't enough examiners (as some will claim) or that there aren't enough funds. It's because the way the system now works is that you are supposed to file patents on every tiny little advancement so you can use it to protect yourself against lawsuits from everyone else. That's not about innovation. It's about waste. In the meantime, since it's still open season at Vonage, who's going to be next? There are a ton of other patents in the VoIP space that can surely be used in a lawsuit, right?
