This is a good product, at a good price. The only thing it doesn't do is have a variable temperature setting. It only has an on/off switch. My daughter always used her old one on high anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Her last CHI lasted just over 1 year. She has long thick hair and uses the product every other day.

The only thing better about 'chi' in general (than my current hot iron) is that it SAYS its better for our hair and doesn't damage it. HOPE thats true! The end gets pretty warm, near the plate. It doesn't feel any different or better, but it does get quite a bit hotter than my other one! The hair needs only touch the iron briefly and the hair itself is too hot to touch! The iron doesn't even have a chance to straighten it. Then I'm too scared to keep it on the hair or do it more than the one time. I don't understand how it's better for our hair if it's that much hotter?! Especially when you can't even adjust the temp! It's just supposed to be perfect for all hair types and textures?!? Well I guess I'll find out if it doesn't damage my hair after a while of using it like this. BE CAREFUL if you get one of these!! You will burn your hand by touching your hair too soon after straightening it!!
