A "Must-Have" for the Holidays or any other Family Gathering
I own a Keurig B70 and I use it all of the time, however, my oldest daughter is not a coffee drinker and doesn't even own an imitation Mr. Coffee. When we went to her house in Albuquerque for Thanksgiving I sent a Keuring B40 to her so that it would arrive before we did. It was the hit of the gathering! I brought a lot of K-Cups from my collection to add to the sampler that comes with the machine. We went through over a hundred pods in the two days that the group (about 15 people) was there. Hot chocolate was a popular beverage for many, as were the assorted coffees and teas (for some reason Hazelnut seems to be the preferred flavored coffee for all of my guests). I even brought some of the holiday themed coffees which are available from Keurig during this time of the year, like "Gingerbread" made by Green Mountain and "Perfectly Pumpkin" by Timothy's. A little whipped cream made the coffees perfect. Everyone got what they wanted and they all just helped themselves (which my daughter loved!).
The B40 is about half the price of the B70 and although it has less features (it makes two sizes of drinks instead of 4 and the reservoir is not lighted) no one cared, not even me. I added the carousel to complete the package.
The family is meeting again right after Christmas, this time in Arizona and I am sure the Keuring will make the trip and be a welcomed addition to the festivities. This is a great value and perfect for entertaining.

You'll never pine for Starbucks again!
I always thought a fresh cup of Starbucks was "good" coffee until my office got a Keurig, and I found myself _looking forward to going to work on a Monday morning_ because it meant I'd get to enjoy a cup of Gloria Jeans Butter Toffee Nut fresh from the Keurig while reading through my emails. At home I had a very nice Bonjour French press and a Krups 10 cup coffee maker, and both had been filled with Starbucks, Archer Farms, Boca Java and other non-cheap brands...and while I had good coffee at home, it was NOTHING like a cup from the Keurig. Soooo...I finally broke down at got this Keurig B40 for myself. Talk about an instant life upgrade! Seriously, this is outstanding, fresh, perfect-every-time coffee. I used to look forward to a weekend trip to Starbucks but since I got the Keurig, eh, not so much. So while the K-cups aren't cheap, at least I'm saving on Starbucks money!!

Mine just caught on fire!
I loved this coffee maker when I got it for Christmas 2007. I joined a coffee club and my k-cups were soon filling up my pantry closet. I loved it so much that I bought one for my daughter and her husband. Theirs stopped working altogether 8 months after they got it. Mine started acting up after 9 months, taking 10 minutes between brews for the water to heat up for the next cup. (Certainly not ideal when you have company.) I de-scaled, as instructed, and took very good care of the machine. But this morning, after it was done brewing a cup of coffee, I heard a loud "pop" and turned around to see flames shooting up behind it. The fire was out quickly, and no real damage was done, aside from a blown circuit breaker and outlet. The machine, however, is toast - after less than one year of use.
Whie the machine was working, I thought the coffee was above average. But the reliabilty of this model is poor, and the workmanship VERY questionable. I doubt I'll be replacing this with another Keurig.
