With just one touch of the start button, the monitor auto inflates for quick, easy measurements. Featuring a two-person memory, which means two different people can save their results, this monitor is designed for ease and comfort. There's no cuff to wrap; you simply insert either arm to take your measurements. Elbow support and adjustable angle assures correct and comfortable use. The large LCD panel displays 0.75 inch blood pressure and pulse rate readings with an orange backlight for easy visibility. The three-color confirming system clearly displays your blood pressure in color-coded numbers that are clear and easy to read. After use, the monitor turns off with one touch and the cuff easily folds into the built-in storage case for added convenience. The Panasonic EW3152A Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor has an AC adapter and runs on four AA batteries, which are included.
How it Works
The DFT (Digital Filter Technology) uses a sensor to detect and isolate only the essential pulse oscillation, which helps eliminate other noise factors and leads to quick and reliable measurements. This also helps avoid over-tightening of the cuff. The monitor lights up if you are moving during a reading, alerting you to the fact that your reading will not proceed unless you become still. The automatic memory feature allows you to capture save readings for two different individuals, making it easy to keep track of your results.
The Color Confirmation System
Thanks to the color confirmation system, it's easy to read and interpret your results. The monitor uses a three color light system to indicate if your reading falls in the hypertension, pre-hypertension or normal range. For the Systolic measurement, red indicates hypertension (over 140); yellow indicates pre-hypertension (130-139); and green indicates readings in the normal range (under 129).

- Panasonic BP MonitorWe used to have the type of monitor that uses a strap to wrap around your arm, and the reading is not accurate, because it depends on how tight you wrap the strap around your arm. With this monitor it works very gently like a professional machine.

Don't have to fiddle with trying to adjust the Velcro-covered arm piece as on the other models...Panasonic's BP monitor is easy and simple to use, and has a log that remembers your numbers with room for a second person's log too. Having a table or desk to set it on while sitting next to it to take your BP is a must...the monitor can easily be removed when not in use. Uses either batteries or is electric. A great monitor I highly recommend.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.
November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.
Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.
The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.
Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.
The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.
The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
