Item Description:
The Yakima DeadLock System locks bikes and hitch bike rack with one key!

Amazon.com Item Description:
Enjoy peace of mind while driving with your bikes with the Yakima DeadLock. Offering an easy way to lock your bikes directly to your Yakima hitch-mount bike rack--and in turn secure your hitch-mount to your car--the DeadLock strikes fear into the hearts of devious thieves. The unit includes an upper lock that secures the outside bike to the hitch-mount using a cable and steel pin, along with a hitch lock that secures the rack to your vehicle. Drivers can rest assured that the DeadLock will hold up to use and abuse thanks to the lock's injection-molded design and metal core. Plus, the lock comes with a single key for locking both your bikes and the rack. As with all Yakima products, the DeadLock carries a limited lifetime warranty.

Buyer Reviews

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Product
This is a great addition to my Yakima rack. The cord is a little short. You are only able to lock it around the rear bike, but that should do the trick.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great system, works for us.
Great system, secures rack and bikes. Cable hooks around the outermost bike holding it and any other inboard bikes on the rack. Simple and secure.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Godsend
Finally, we can stop and eat at a restaurant after a bike ride or run in to get supplies on the way to our ride. It does it's job and it isn't a big, ugly chain.

Customer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - good product, but a little bit too short
I purchased this in Amazon marketplace. We used it for our recent camping on Jun/22/2008 from LosAngeles to BigSur (7-hour driving.) The quality is good, and robust. However, with three bikes loaded (I use Yakima KingPin 4,) the cable is too short to connect to the lock. I only cross the cable to the last bike (outmost one,) and need to pull the cable quite hard to connect it to the lock. It is better to add about 3 more inches.
