Buyer Reviews
Average Buyer Rating: out of 5 stars

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love 'em.
I bought a set for triathlons. They worked great. My shoes slip on in secords and are more comfortable, as compared to laces. I found them so superior in comfort compared to laces that I use them whenever running (not just triathlon training) and for normal everyday shoes. I would recommend them to anyone tired of lacing shoes, whether for running or other use. I prefer the lower profile of this kind as compared to the type with the knob.

Customer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Yankz are awesome!
I bought a couple sets of Yankz--for running shoes and bike shoes-- and am very happy with the results! They're perfect for speeding up triathlon transitions, look great (no loose ends), and feel great while my feet are in the shoes. I appreciate the small, unobtrusive plastic parts, and didn't find the instructions too difficult. It might take a little trial and error to get the tightness right, but it's well worth it.

I have tried "other" brands of elastic laces, but didn't care for the plastic knob covering the loose ends and the big plastic clasp near the shoe's tongue. Tucking the ends into the laces kept them from bouncing around, but you still have this big knob.

Bottom line: Yankz are awesome!

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great product
I bought a pair of black Yankz for a pair of black Reebok's about a year ago, and I love them. I thought the initial installation was a bit difficult, but after wearing them for the past year, the minor difficulty was WELL worth it. They turn your sneaks into slip-ons, and mine have never come untied. SO cool! I looked at another brand, but I don't want the ends to be flopping around when I run, or even when I walk, and it looks like they would. I'm so happy with mine that I'm buying 2 more for me (taxi yellow and reflective!) and several more for little Christmas presents. The only advice I have is not to cut the ends too short--make sure you have enough to tuck in so they won't ever come out.

Customer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - It seemed like a good idea....
We were looking for an alternative shoe lace for our two sons. They both seem to destroy shoe laces. After checking out the various alternatives these looked like a great idea. I bought a pair for everyone in the family. The younger of the boy's laces made it less than one day at school before he had lost the triangle part at the bottom. I tried them on my shoes and found them difficult at best. The directions are not clear enough on how to use these either. In the end these seemed like a good idea but I'll be ordering something else.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
